Level 3 Award Education and Training   

 

The qualification is the first level teaching qualification that will build your skills and knowledge to enable you to take up a post in the post 16 education sector.

 

What does this qualification cover?

 

Units Include:

 

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training 
  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training 
  • Understanding assessment in education and training.

 

 

Who is it suitable for?

 

This qualification aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as: 

 

  • Individuals not currently in a teaching or training role
  • Individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training)
  • Individuals currently working as Assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that introduces teaching
  •  

The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners for employment and support them to progress to a teaching role within the workplace.

  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training 
  • Understanding assessment in education and training.

 

Key facts Minimum age 19 years old Assessment Micro Teach, Assignments and professional discussion. Prerequisites Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths, English and ICT and knowledge or your subject area.

 

Duration 4 classroom days and up to 6 months to complete the distance learning aspects of the course.

 

Costs face to face for £450 or

 

Online with ongoing support only £250

 

Our courses are delivered by experienced, qualified instructors with real world teaching experience. The course is available through face to face classroom learning or fully online. 

 

Each classroom-based course is a mixture of face to face learning and distance learning. The classroom elements allow for our knowledgeable and friendly tutors to pass on their knowledge in a warm and welcoming environment. For the distance learning sections you will be provided with world class resources including quality workbooks, videos, and links to up to date research. In total, there will be 4 classroom-based days with up to 6 months to complete the distance learning parts of the course, although most people complete it within 2 months of starting. 

 

For the fully online course you will be provided with A RANGE resources including quality workbooks, videos, and links to up to date research. You will receive support via a mixture of online, group tutorials, 1 to 1 video calls, phone, and email support, you choose to dip in and out to meet your own needs.

There is even an option to complete the teaching element online through video conferencing. You will have 6 months to complete the distance learning parts of the course, although most people complete it within 2 months of starting. 

 

There is some written work required for this course, so we ask all learners to have at least the equivalent to level 2 in English or ICT.  If you do not have a level 2 English or Maths qualification speak to us as we may be able to assist you gaining your level 2 Functional Skills which  you will need in your role as a tutor or assessor in the future.
